What it does
SimpleBefore GPS, planes found their way using ground beacons called VOR. Each beacon sends a signal that tells a plane which direction it is from the beacon. This newer app (added in 2026) can receive those beacons and show that bearing.
How it works
SimpleThe beacon sends two signals; the tiny timing difference between them tells you which direction you are from the beacon, like a compass made of radio.
How to use it, step by step
Simple- Open 'VOR RX'.
- Tune to a VOR beacon frequency near an airport.
- Read the direction it shows.
