What it does
SimpleLots of everyday gadgets (doorbells, sensors, remotes) talk in simple on/off pulses on the sub-GHz bands. ProtoView listens and tries to recognise which protocol each one uses, showing you the decoded data — like a translator for the sub-GHz zoo.
How it works
SimpleIt measures the exact lengths of the on/off pulses and compares them to a big list of known 'languages' to figure out which gadget is talking.
How to use it, step by step
Simple- Open 'ProtoView'.
- Set the sub-GHz band (e.g. 433 MHz).
- Trigger a nearby remote/sensor.
- See which protocol it decodes.
Examples
Identify a sensor
Trigger a 433 MHz sensor and let ProtoView name its protocol.
Bridge to decode
Use it to recognise a device before diving into the raw pulses in the IQ viewer.
Tips & things to try
- If a device isn't recognised, capture it and inspect the raw timing in the WAV/IQ viewer.
- 433.92 MHz is the richest hunting ground in most regions.
