OOK Editor

Build/inspect OOK waveforms

#transmit#ook#subghz#editor#educational

What it does

Simple

OOK Editor lets you build a simple on/off signal by hand and see exactly how the 1s and 0s and timing fit together. It's a brilliant learning tool for understanding why simple remotes work the way they do — and why fixed codes aren't secure.

How it works

Simple

You place the on and off pieces and set how long each lasts; the editor shows the exact pattern you've built.

How to use it, step by step

Simple
  1. Open 'OOK Editor'.
  2. Build a pattern of on/off pieces.
  3. See how the bits and timing line up.
  4. Learn why fixed codes are easy to copy.

Examples

Anatomy of a remote

Build a PT2262-style frame and see the sync + data structure.

Why rolling codes win

Realise how trivially a fixed pattern can be reproduced, motivating rolling codes.

Tips & things to try

  • It's a learning/inspection tool — the security lesson is the point.
  • Only experiment with devices you own, and follow local law.
