FPV Detect

Detect FPV drone video

#receive#drone#fpv#5.8ghz#detector

What it does

Simple

Racing and hobby drones with a live camera send their video on 5.8 GHz. This app can detect that a drone's video transmitter is active nearby — handy for spotting drones by their radio signature rather than by sight.

How it works

Simple

A drone's video signal has a distinctive shape on the airwaves. The app watches the drone bands and lights up when it sees that shape.

How to use it, step by step

Simple
  1. Open 'FPV Detect'.
  2. Let it watch the drone bands.
  3. It alerts when an FPV drone is transmitting.

Examples

Spot the drone

Detect a racing drone's VTX before you can even see the aircraft.

Field survey

At a flying field, see how many FPV channels are active at once.

Tips & things to try

  • It targets analog FPV; digital HD systems look different on the spectrum.
  • A 5.8 GHz antenna is needed for good sensitivity at those frequencies.
